Legian

Legian is located between Kuta and Seminyak and is a great compromise if you want to avoid the chaotic Kuta and the slightly more expensive Seminyak. In Legian you can visit many shops, massages, try surfing, and you can get a cheap tattoo in one of the many tattoo studios … Legian is a hot spot for local traders and sellers. The stores sell everything from bracelets, fake shoes of good brands, glasses, surf accessories and all the way to art paintings. If you are strolling through the Legian and other tourist destinations, do not be surprised if  the locals repeats to you all the time »honey moon price« This testifies that Bali is an extremely popular destination for wedding travel.

You can also make some day trips from Legian, such as a trip to Tanah Lot Temple, Jimbaran Coast, drive to the most beautiful beach in Bali Nusa Dua or enjoy the Waterboom water park.

Eat and sleep

In Legian you can choose from street stalls, a range of restaurants and bars, offering a wide selection of local and international cuisine. Many great restaurants can be found on Jalan Raza Legian Main Street and smaller side streets. We most often visited warung Yogya (Jalan Padma Utara 79, Legian) where they serve cheap and tasty food and also have the best smoothies.

There are many different accommodations in Legian, from cheap hostels to upscale hotels. We found a nice Si Doi Hotel Legian, which we were very pleased with. The hotel rooms are large, with air conditioning, a safe, a water heater, so you can also make tea or coffee. The hotel has a rich breakfast and a nice clean pool. Restaurants, shops, bars, warungs are all within walking distance, and a 10-minute walk to the beach. We spent the last 4 days in Legian chilling and exploring the area, but the last day came and we had to pack our things and call an Uber to take us to the airport.
